Halloween 2024 at the Curtis and Wanda MacPherson scary cottage. We took a slow month carefully deciding and planning and decorating for the holiday. The glowing spiderwebs were created with yarn and fluorescent paint. We then lit the entire place with black lights and had strobe lights everywhere. The windows were filled with large monitors with scary creatures trying to escape fruitlessly as they were captive slaves. The yard hard a hologram of dancing skeletons and other creatures coming up out of the ground and then disappearing. The yard was also atmosphered with scary music much like that of a horror movie where the victim is being chased through a forest with an unknown flesh eating creature in pursuit.
The host Wanda and Curtis were dressed for the occasion. Wanda as a witch in black offering candy from a real and very large cauldron filled with not only candy but dangerous creatures oh and electrified coils that could administer death if you weren’t careful while reaching for candy. Behind her buzzed a real and truly dangerous 70 thousand volt Jacobs ladder which of course was up high to keep this particular instrument of death out of reach of all human victims. Meanwhile, Curtis, the other host was out closer to the main entrance slumped in a chair as a dead Sith, that is the on comers first considered him a prop until they came closer only to lose a few heart beats when he stirred to life and invited them to walk into the spider webs making sure not to get bitten by one of the 3 giant spiders perched over head. If they could make their way to the cauldron and escape without being caught or eaten, they were welcome to keep the candy they stole.
A test run a day before Halloween, found 5 little MacPherson children invited to do a door to door trick or treat to the 4 doors of the house while mysteriously during the hunt, the hunters became the hunted as the candy thief stalked and chased them. This Halloween was the most fun in more than 25 years when last they did something like this that involved putting a Porsche in the yard and scaring people with a loud horn and bright lights remotely controlled by a switch to perfectly scare people as they were right in front of the car. tragically, that night the remote got tripped on and the light of 6000 watts shining through the windshield was left on and burned a hole right through the expensive windshield. This ended a tradition of Halloween for 25 years until 2024.
